Equality Springfield was formed in 2010 by a group of citizens who envisioned a greater Springfield in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people are welcomed and appreciated.  To realize that vision, we promote broader awareness of LGBT issues, we participate visibly in the cultural life of our community, we build coalitions of supporters, and we contribute to the strength of LGBT and allied communities by providing opportunities for fellowship and mutual respect. 

We are a volunteer-driven organization working to diversify and enrich the civic life in the greater Springfield area, and our doors are wide open.  Anyone interested in working for these changes is encouraged to join us.
