Equality Springfield is proud to acknowledge the many contributions of Black queer people during LGBTQIA+ History Month. Light post banners downtown featuring 14 remarkable people, social media posts on our Facebook page with the stories of these and other amazing individuals, and a beautiful billboard to cap it all off come November.

Equality Springfield was formed in 2010 by a group of citizens who envisioned a greater Springfield in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people are welcomed and appreciated.  To realize that vision, we promote broader awareness of LGBT issues, we participate visibly in the cultural life of our community, we build coalitions of supporters, and we contribute to the strength of LGBT and allied communities by providing opportunities for fellowship and mutual respect.

We are a volunteer-driven organization working to diversify and enrich the civic life in the greater Springfield area, and our doors are wide open.  Anyone interested in working for these changes is encouraged to join us.
